PROFESSIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Students of Victoria Academy of Ballet have many performance opportunities both on Vancouver Island and on the mainland.
OPEN HOUSE DEMONSTRATIONS
We open the doors at Victoria Academy of Ballet to parents, friends and colleagues to view students at our annual Open House Demonstration each December. Here students demonstrate a selection of their class work. Parents enjoy seeing the progress and talent of their children at this social event.
FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES
Students involved in Festivals work with guest choreographers and VAB faculty on group and solo performances. These festivals are held locally in Victoria, on Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia. If selected by local adjudicators, students will have the opportunity to represent Victoria Academy of Ballet at the British Columbia Provincial Performing Arts Festival. VAB students are also asked regularly to perform in the Honours and Highlights Performances with local festivals each year.
CECCHETTI AWARDS
The Cecchetti Society of British Columbia holds an annual award competition. Participation, after successfully passing through the audition process, involves learning a specially choreographed solo by leading British Columbia choreographers and then competing at the Cecchetti Awards Celebration in Vancouver. In the past, students of Victoria Academy of Ballet have had great success at these awards.
YEAR-END SHOW: TAKE FLIGHT
At the completion of each year, students participate in the Year-End show. Each class will perform appropriate works choreographed by both VAB faculty and guest choreographers. This performance showcases the wonderful talent at Victoria Academy of Ballet and gives all students the opportunity to display their skills and progress learned over the course of the year.
GUEST PERFORMANCES
VAB students are often invited to perform as guests at local events and showcases. This reward for the students exposes them to many different social groups as they donate their talents for worthy causes.
